Yacht Club
Having recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, the Yacht Club continues to provide an important contribution towards maintaining the sailing, fishing and Creekside heritage at Lower Halstow. Nestled on the eastern side of the Creek, its 100 or so members, including many from the village, sail and maintain their boats on swinging moorings, using a wide slipway and lifting cradle for winter storage ashore with all associated facilities.
With renewed interest in water sports following Covid, the Club now encourages kayaking and paddle boarding along with dinghy and yacht sailing, fishing and motor-boating, for all ages. Membership is open to all village residents, and it remains the least expensive Yacht Club within the wider estuary area. Run entirely by volunteers, the Club offers mini flotilla cruising, informal racing and with its waterside clubhouse, barbecue and picnic area, a range
of social events for members, their families and friends.
