Cricket Club
Lower Halstow Cricket Club is believed to have been formed in 1882, with its first known home ground being Gun Meadow situated at the bottom of Basser Hill, which is now used to graze horses. In 1908, the Club moved to Meophams Field which is next to the Stray in Halstow.
Cricket was stopped due to the Second World War, and when it recommenced in 1947, Lower Halstow Cricket Club moved to its current home at Chapel Meadow. In 1993, the Club entered the Kent Village League which it is still a member of to the current day.
In 2008, Lower Halstow merged with Bobbing Court to officially become Bobbing Court and Lower Halstow Cricket Club and had 4 teams playing league on every Saturday and 2 league teams on Sundays, with a midweek league team playing home games at Chapel Meadow and Rook Lane, which was Bobbing's home ground. Interest has unfortunately waned in recent years and the club now only has one team that plays every Sunday, playing a mixture of league and friendly cricket.
